Some animals are less likely to be adopted than others because of their age or possible disability. They are highlighted on the site by a red “Rescue” headband as well as in the shelter by a display on their box. The goal is to help these animals to have a second chance in life and for some to spend a happy retirement in the sweetness of a home rather than in shelter.
A rescue animal may spend a few days in temporary placement before its eventual adoption in order to become familiar with its new environment. The host family does not commit to anything and can help a good adoption of a dog but due to the anxiety and stress we always recommend an escape proof crate.
The rescue approach differs from the traditional adoption approach in that it is a matter of solidarity on the part of the adopters. Taking an animal as a rescue is part of a generous animal protection process.
Our rescue animals are very endearing and you will be surprised by their dogs. They quickly become our favorites and are the object of much attention on our part. All our animals are identified, vaccinated, dewormed and sterilized. Participation for adoption is in the form of a donation and is free in the case of a rescue.

Rib’s transformation is most spectacular. While he appeared to be at the death row when he was discovered and rescued, he has now become a beautiful dog in top form.
It is in one of the streets of Campo Mouro, in the state of Parana in Brazil, that a dog named Rib was found by the team of the association Paws 4 Hope, as reported by I Love My Dog So Much. When the volunteers approached him, the animal was frightened. However, they took the time to gain his trust.
His condition was extremely worrying. His skin was literally gnawed by scabies, which had caused him to lose most of his hair. At the end of its strength, the dog’s body was infested with all kinds of parasites: worms, but also fleas, ticks,as well as maggots that lived in its gaping wounds.
Rib was immediately taken to the vet,who also discovered that he was suffering from a severe form of anemia. The maggots were removed one by one, and the specialist determined the treatments to be administered to him.
On days, then weeks and months, the dog got better and better thanks to the care, the attention paid by Paws 4 Hope, then by his host family. The next step in Rib’s new life was to join his final family, since he was adopted.
With his new parents, the canid has learned to trust humans again and continued his incredible metamorphosis. His hair grew back, his skin regained its normal state,he regained weight and his sweet personality came to light.
