Adopt Calista, 14 year old cat owners moving not taking catt!!!! CT

POOR CALISTA THEY ARE MOVING, KEEPING THEIR DOG NOT THEIR LOYAL CAT THAT IS 14 YRS OLD - READ BELOW, UNBELIEVABLE. SO SO SAD - THAT POOR CAT - SHE IS DECLAWED AND IN GOOD HEALTH. PLEASE HELP SPREAD THE WORD ASAP - SHE NEEDS A HOME BADLY. Calista is 14 years old and in very good health. She is front declawed and currently lives with a dog and has previously lived with cats. She will be updating her vaccines today. Her owners are moving to a new location that allows dogs but not cats. They were comfortable with the fact that she could be put to sleep because, "She led a good long life." There are issues with her tear ducts but they didn't do anything about this at onset so there's probably little to do for her now. She does have sight and an eternal squint. Not looking for a rescue to take her, please just help spread the word for a home. Somewhere that she can live out her golden years with someone who will give her a bit more concern. My house is pretty full but she'll stay here until another less inhabited home can be found. Brandy adorable 10 year old female yorkie needs home! - Blairsville PA

This is little Brandy. Brandy is an owner-surrender due to divorce. She is 10 years old, had a recent dental, up-to-date on her shots, spay and is fitting right into our pack. She is also microchipped. Brandy has been pampered and loved. However, she has to eat from the bowl at our houseJ she was also hand-fed. She loves massages and listens. Can you believe, too, she is housebroken! I have never had a Yorkie who was housebroken. She barks to go out. I will have Brandy with me until she is placed in her forever. Thanks again. Two senior Shelties in need of home or rescue!!! Malverne NY

This is a senior boy named Niki and he is a sheltie - 14 years old. His owners have had hardship after hardship and can no longer care for Niki. He cannot got to a home with babies.

It is quite evident that little Petunia has been neglected and treated poorly her entire life. She was most likely used as a breeder dog that could no longer produce and was thrown away. We cannot turn our backs on her also. All you have to do is touch her and her little tail wags with delight. She holds no bad feelings for the life she has been forced to live. As a rescue, we have decided that if we cannot try to make every dog that comes into our care healthy and whole again, no matter their age, we would have failed at our jobs and what would be the purpose for our existence? We need donations for the estimated $4000 of surgery that Petunia needs to save her life. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to make a donation to help us help Petunia, please either go to our website - - where you may use a PayPal button to make your donation or you can send a check made out to Tri-State Sheltie Rescue, Inc. to: TSSSR PO Box 422 Malverne, NY 11565. Please remember that all donations are tax deductible! Julie Canzoneri Tri-State Shetland Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. email:

Adopt Nana, 7 year old terrier mix in shelter since December - NJ

This sweet, adorable girl is Nana. Nana is a white and orange pit bull-mix who is estimated to be about 7 years old. She was surrendered from people who could no longer care for her, but that means she is used to living in a home--she's housebroken, and she walks great on a leash! She also knows her basic commands--sit, paw, stay and come. Nana honestly has to be one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met. She isn't too interested in toys--she would rather curl up next to you or roll over for a belly rub! She LOVES people and attention. When you walk by her kennel she begs for attention! Please don't let Nana's age turn you away. She is still active and loves walks! This amazing dog has been at the shelter for over 6 months--she needs a loving home! She is kid friendly, dog friendly, but needs a home without cats. The poor doggie has been in the shelter since December 2011 . contact:

Little 12 year Harvey needs a new home!!! FLORIDA

Two animal lovers were at an adoption event showing another dog that they had rescued and at the event Animal Control had this little old guy, Harvey. Harvey is a terrier mix about 10 yo. His original owner surrendered him to a kill shelter. He is quite well behaved and very loving, just looking for a warm home to spend his last years. Harvey weighs about 23 lbs and gets along with other dogs. Please email NANCY her at if you would like to meet this dear boy.

ADOPTED!!! fFoster/Adopt Moakes, beautiful 8 year old black labrador Long island City NY

Moakes is a beautiful 90 pound 8 year old neutered male black labrador in need of a new home. Owner's building has been sold and new owner does not want dogs there. Moakes is a very sweet dog and he has been around cats, and he is totally fine, not so great around young dogs. They are inclined to be too active for him, and he is really a quiet, old soul dog. You can bring him to the park, and he is so not interested in other dogs, birds, rabbits... Nothing really bothers him. He loves to get belly rubs and loves to be brushed. Owner is really heartbroken but wants to do the right thing for his great dog. If you are interested in adopting Moakes please email all applicants will be screened and a home check is required.

D-47453 Precious is an 8 yr old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix. She does well with children of all ages but not other animals. She is house trained and formally trained. One of her favorite things is to go outside and play in the grass. Precious will make someone a very good pet and friend.

PRINCESS IS A Great family dog!! Princess was a victim of the bad economy when her owner had to move from their home. She was surrendered to the shelter with her housemate Bear (he was a lucky dog who got adopted quickly). Princess is 8 years old and about 60 lbs. She is such a sweet, friendly dog, who is a breeze to walk. If you want a low maintenance, laid back dog then Princess is the dog for you. Unfortunately she has an allergic reaction to the chemicals used to clean her kennel which causes her paw pads to develop a rash and bleed. The shelter is no place for a Princess. Princess is good with kids and other dogs, but not cats. Please give this wonderful dog a new place to call home.

They are also up to date with vaccinations, and can be microchipped prior to adoption. If you know of anyone who can give these sweet creatures a loving, home, please contact the pet guardians at:

Toby, is a sweet, Kansas Beagle boy! He needs a place to live out the rest of his days. He was returned from an adopting family because his breathing was bad and weezed badly and he had accidents on the floor. Now that could be due to old age but it could also be because this is a retired breeder dog and has not been trained. He is doggy door trained. There must be SOMEONE who wants an old dog that only has a year or two left to his old life. Please if you have a farm could you consider letting Toby live with you. My vet was asked to put him down by the breeder but he just can't do it. At first the vet thought Toby was breathing like this because his teeth were so bad and infection had spread throughout his body. But they ran some more studies on him and found that his esophagus had collapsed. The vet feels that this dog was kicked in the throat to cause this problem. He really does not have any other breathing problems. If you know someone that would be interested in letting this beautiful guy live his life out in senior luxury please email Debbie at All contact information is listed in my signature. URGENT!!!!Adopt Ripley, an 8 year old female coonhound, great with cats! Bayonne NJ

Ripley is an 8 year old spayed female coonhound who weighs approximately 70 pounds located in Bayonne, NJ. This is an owner dog who needs a new home. Ripley is healthy and up to date on shots. She is used to being around cats but has not lived with another dog. She loves her walks and needs exercise and a house with a yard is recommended for Ripley. She is a very loving, trained and well behaved dog but due to the young age of our child, Ripley is not used to the high energy and is not responding well. She needs to be introduced slowly to strangers and we recommend that a home with older kids would be fine but not young children. If you have large dog experience and think that you are the right home for Ripley please email for an adoption application.

Adopt Britney, 12 year old female labrador mix NY NY

Big fan of: Every person she meets, spending time lolling on the couch and sleeping in, being brushed and getting lots of strokes and cuddles. Not a fan of: Seeing other dogs, pigeons or other small animals on walks—Britney barks at them. Special features: As a couch-potato senior, Britney is an ideal companion for someone in search of a snuggle buddy—she’s ready to spend every evening by your side while you catch up on TV or crack open a good book. She has a very sweet disposition and a distinguished gray muzzle. Other reasons she’s special: ASPCA Humane Law Enforcement Agents seized Britney from her owner last year. She suffers from arthritic changes in her back and elbows and ligament tears in both knees, but due to her age surgery is not an option. Britney takes arthritis medicine daily, and her adopter must continue this medication. She is eating hypoallergenic food at the moment, but this may be tapered off in the future. Dream home: A six-and-up household without other animals where Britney can finally get the love and comfort she deserves. If you’re interested: Please call our Animal Placement department in New York City at (212) 876-7700, ext. 4900.

Adopt Buddy, in rescue for 2 years with no offers of a home!

Please contact PAWS -
Buddy is a 5-year-old, 60 lb. shepherd mix (who was previously "chained" outside 24/7 with an extension cord). When he came to us, he had a bullet lodged in his face. Buddy is neutered, UTD on shots, housebroken and microchipped. He knows several commands (sit, stay, down, give paw), rides well in the car, and likes being bathed and brushed. Despite his not so great early years, Buddy is sweet, outgoing and playful. He loves to play with other dogs (behaves well at doggie day care). He likes to nap in small spaces and is fascinated by chipmunks. He is particular about the cats he likes. He is a wonderful watch dog. He will bark until you greet your guest and then he is happy to see them too! Buddy is waiting for that special someone to give him a chance. Please contact PAWS - or call 570-350-8798.

URGENT! Two senior dogs need home or rescue now - Vidalia GA

CONTACT HOLLY AT 912-539-9840 or email: SOAPS (Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society) P.O. Box 210 Vidalia, GA 30475 THESE DOGS ARE CURRENTLY AT VIDALIA ANIMAL CONTROL IN VIDALIA, GA. Here are photos of 2 senior dogs at VAC. These boys really made me sad when I visited the shelter Saturday. Does anybody have any senior contacts? The information below is from April at the shelter: The first picture is of Clyde a chow/newfinland mix approx 10+ years old, not neutered and ok with other dogs. He has some hair loss but we believe it's due to malnutrition. His owners moved off and left him chained in the back yard for 2 months before someone found him and called us to pick him up. The second set of pictures are of B.J. He is a male neutered lab approx 7-8 years old. He is very laid back, super sweet, and great with other dogs. He was an owner surrender due to the owner not wanting to pay the pickup and boarding fees. B.J. has been here at our shelter for almost 2 years. 2 YEARS?? B.J. really needs a home!

Adopt Brandy, female Senior Golden Lab Mix

Hi, my name is Brandy. I lived with my family all my life in Stroudsburg, PA . I was a much-loved family member until our 4 yr old human was giving me a cookie and when I tried to take it then he pulled it away. Just when I thought I had it, I accidentally caught his hand and now they say I nipped him. Being an old gal my eyesight is not what it used to be and didn't mean anything- just wanted that yummy cookie. My owner even said it was an accident but they gave me up now I live in a kennel. I’m sad here and miss my humans. A kennel is no place for a old girl like me. Brandy is a very sweet happy 11 yrs old, Golden/Lab mix, Approx. 70 lbs., Ok on leash, House trained and trustworthy when left home alone. Good with most dogs and cats. Has lived with a pit mix, 2 cats and children. She doesn’t care to be crated as she was crated a lot as a pup, Likes to play and sleep in bed. Health: Spayed, UTD on shots, complete vet check in April. In good health, no issues. Home/Foster: Due to her age a home with older children would be best with no other dogs or calm, submissive dogs. She just wants a family again and to be loved. Please give this senior a chance. Contact or for more information.
